There are six phases in the DIGIHEALTH project (Work Packages)

Preparation: Baseline Study (WP1)

It will start by designing questionnaires to identify gaps, the impact of Teaching and Learning and the available and required ICT-based teaching tools followed by a focus group with stakeholders from the health sector and specifically concentrate on exploring required digital competencies from employer point of view. After conducting surveys and controlled focus groups with target groups, analyzing data and identifying gaps and needs, then summarizing results and preparing a report. Reports will be presented and discussed during open seminars with stakeholders from health sector and all partners in each PC and a joint report will be discussed during regional seminar with EU partners.  Based on this report, an updated list of training areas will be determined.

     The main activities in this phase are:

  1. Updating questionnaires about digital skills, Teaching and Learning and their impact and available and required ICT-based teaching tools.
  2. Collecting data
  3. Analysis and Identification of different entities
  4. Present the results in local and regional workshops and seminar
  5. Updating list of training areas to be provided enlightened by study results

Arab International University (Syria) will lead this phase 

 

Capacity Building and Development (WP2)

Based on deliverables of WP1, EU partners will develop training materials and programs on needed digital skills, new Teaching and Learning approach and on utilizing ICT in health education. Visits to relevant centers and department in the program countries will be organized as part of the TOT plan. Each HEI will participate in a pool of teaching experts through selecting suitable candidates, 5 visits to EU partners and 2 visits by EU professors to Beirut to join local training, up to 4 trainees will attend training programs to improve their digital skills, training them on innovative Teaching and Learning  methods, evaluation and assessment methods, utilizing ICT in health education, as well as gain the know-how knowledge necessary to set up the centers and use digital educational portal. Then, trainees will transfer their gained knowledge to other trainers in their institutions in 5 big events (10 seminars and 25 workshops). 

The main activities in this phase are:

  1. Designing and developing the training programs
  2. Developing TOT materials 
  3. Selection of suitable candidates from PC institutions
  4. Conducting TOT 
  5. In-house Teacher Training
  6. Revising the pedagogical part of selected modules
  7.  Formulated selected modules based on new approaches and utilising ICT
  8. Development of manual containing training materials and benchmarks
  9. E-modules are developed and revised

 

Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (Spain) will lead this phase

 

Centers Set-up (WP3)

The objective of this WP is establishing 2 innovative Teaching and Learning centers at LU (Lebanon) and Damascus University (Syria). It will start with allocating spaces and equip centers with all necessary infrastructures and purchase software licenses. All partners will work together on the definition of centers’ policy, strategy, regulations and plans. Also, a digital education platform will be purchased to support the digitized learning environment and deliver e-modules to IDPs and refugees.  Those centers will run training programs focusing on digital skills and innovative Teaching and Learning skills. 

The main activities in this phase are:

 

  1.  Defining Policies, strategies, regulations and plans for centres by all partners 
  2.  Allocating space for centres
  3.  Purchasing required resources and licenses
  4.  Centre Implementation
  5.  Smart classroom implementation

 

Lebanese University (Lebanon) will lead this phase

 

Quality Assessment Methodology and Tools(WP4)

UNIMED will be responsible for setting procedures, documentation and templates for internal quality control to ensure the quality of project activities. That is, developing indicators of activities completion, evaluating the quality of these activities and have an overall evaluation by means of 2 impact surveys: 1 in the middle of project life and 1 at the end. This WP will establish a quality manual and evaluates the quality of project implementation via reports provided by partners. Analyzing indicators of completion of activities and comparing them to baseline values. Then, evaluating the quality of activities based on content analysis and develop and analyses impact surveys of project achievements

The main activities in this phase are:

  1. Setting procedures, documentation and templates for internal quality control
  2. Evaluating the quality of project implementation via reports provided by partners
  3. Analysing indicators of completion of activities and their baseline values compliance 
  4.  Evaluating activities' quality based on content analysis
  5.  Develop and analyse impact survey

Mediterranean Universities Union (Italy) will lead this phase

 

Dissemination and Exploitation (WP5)

This phase contains 2 components:

Dissemination: Dissemination of project’s activities and results will be through developing and updating a homepage and Facebook page for the project and web platform for the centers. Also, communication officer from each partner will hold meetings and talks. Organizing open days and annual Info days in PCs will insure dissemination at the regional level. Also, holding awareness workshops at the occasion of centers’ launching and regular meetings with health sector partners will achieve the objective of this WP nationally. Printing and publishing of conducted studied and the projects’ achievement and printing teaching/training materials in partner countries.

Exploitation: Centers will operate actively with an official launching activity at LU and Damascus University. They will be the hubs at PCs. Also, centers will be a base for cooperation with EU partners, improvement of communication system and close cooperation with local environment.

The main activities in this phase are:

  1. Developing and updating a homepage and facepage
  2. Promotion of project objectives and results in PC
  3. Networking with public bodies, NGOs, non-partner University
  4. Media coverage and press

 

 Damascus University (Syria) will lead this phase

Management(WP6)

This WP will start from the kick-off meeting in Beirut and continue to the last minute of the project lifetime when the closure meeting is held in LNU. It also includes the formation of steering committees and holding all steering committees, combined sometimes with other events for cost saving. LNU will illustrate the financial and administrative procedures to partners in the kick-off meeting. This WP will also covers the preparation of Intermediate and Final Project Reports that all partners should contribute toward successfully submitting them to EACEA.

  3. Coordination and networks Mgt
  4. Reporting to ECEA and preparing for monitoring
  5. Financial Mgt
  6.  Administrative work
  7.  Closure meeting
